You will design and build the data infrastructure powering Keycard’s identity and access services. Your work balances streaming and batch processing to support both transactional needs and analytical insights, enabling secure agent operations.
Reporting directly to founders and collaborating with product and engineering teams, you will shape the data architecture from the ground up. The role offers deep autonomy and accountability in a remote-first environment.
What you'll do
- Design resilient data pipelines balancing streaming and batch paradigms
- Build storage layers and APIs for real-time enforcement and feedback
- Integrate external data sources to enable policy evaluation
- Surface insights through dashboards and developer-facing APIs
- Support both transactional identity services and OLAP requirements
What you'll need
- Strong experience designing systems for streaming and batch processing
- Proficiency in Python, Go, and/or Rust
- Experience building with Kafka, Parquet, and Iceberg
- Ability to thrive in 0→1 environments and make technical trade-offs
- Strong communication skills for async updates and written plans
Nice to have
- Experience shipping developer-facing APIs, SDKs, or tools
- Contributions to open source data infrastructure projects
- Active experimentation with AI agents in personal workflows
- Opinions on making data systems agent-friendly
