You will design and operate large-scale networks supporting Mistral's AI compute infrastructure. The work involves translating fabric requirements into automated APIs, building reliable control-plane software, and ensuring safe change workflows across multi-tenant environments.

What you'll do

  • Design leaf-spine underlays and EVPN/VXLAN overlays for AI infrastructure
  • Build control-plane software to reconcile desired and observed network state
  • Create safe change workflows with validation, dry runs, and atomic updates
  • Integrate with switch operating systems while maintaining vendor-neutral abstractions
  • Participate in on-call rotation to troubleshoot and restore network services
  • Review designs and code to improve network engineering quality
  • Develop lab and production tests based on operational lessons

What you'll need

  • Deep experience with Ethernet switching, IP routing, and BGP-based fabrics
  • Expertise in EVPN/VXLAN and VRF-based multitenancy
  • Strong judgment on fabric scale, convergence, isolation, and failure modes
  • Experience building production network automation with idempotency and recovery
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals in a general-purpose language
  • Willingness to become productive in Go
  • Experience with southbound APIs like REST, gNMI/OpenConfig, or NETCONF
  • Hands-on work with NOS such as Cumulus Linux, Arista EOS, SONiC, or Junos
  • Diagnostic skills using packet captures, telemetry, and routing state

Nice to have

  • Experience reading or contributing to Go code
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes controllers, operators, and CRDs
  • Experience with network labs like containerlab, NVIDIA Air, or GNS3
  • Knowledge of high-performance Ethernet, RoCE, InfiniBand, or GPU infrastructure
