Join Careway to develop an advocacy-first telehealth platform that helps seniors navigate the US healthcare system. You will build features from design to production for an AI-native EHR, working closely with physicians and health advocates to improve patient outcomes.
The team values strong engineering fundamentals and curiosity over specific framework expertise. You will leverage AI coding agents to accelerate development while ensuring high reliability for critical healthcare workflows.
What you'll do
- Build features and systems to support practitioners and scale the platform
- Take ownership of tasks from initial idea through to production deployment
- Utilize AI tools and coding agents to enhance development efficiency
- Maintain codebase health through refactoring and reliability improvements
- Work across frontend, data layer, background jobs, and infrastructure as needed
What you'll need
- Strong fundamentals in data modeling, API design, and debugging
- Backend experience with Python and Django
- Comfortable building with LLMs and understanding their practical applications
- Proven ability to ship work independently without heavy organizational support
- Clear communication skills and good judgment in design discussions
Nice to have
- Experience shipping LLM features in production environments
- Background in healthcare, EHR systems, or FHIR standards
- Previous experience in fast-moving startup environments
- Comfort working with server-rendered frontends
- Experience with Postgres and Redis databases
