Join the Hypershield team as a hands-on Technical Leader designing and optimizing data plane software for Cisco Smart Switches. You will write production-quality C/C++ code, solve complex networking challenges, and guide technical direction while collaborating with hardware and security engineers.
What you'll do
- Design and optimize high-performance data plane software using C/C++ on Linux
- Develop networking solutions for DPU-based Smart Switch platforms
- Troubleshoot complex software defects and improve system scalability
- Lead technical design discussions and conduct architecture reviews
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across the organization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on security and networking features
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree with 12+ years experience, or Master's with 10+, or PhD with 7+
- Over 10 years of professional software development using C or C++ in Linux
- Strong knowledge of Layer 2, Layer 3, and common networking protocols
- Experience optimizing packet processing applications using DPDK or similar stacks
- Proven track record in designing and delivering production-quality systems software
Nice to have
- Experience with Data Processing Units, SmartNICs, or network processors
- Familiarity with P4 or other programmable data plane technologies
- Background in large-scale distributed networking solutions
- Experience working with geographically distributed engineering teams
