You will develop the infrastructure that protects Resend's email platform from bad actors while ensuring reliability for legitimate users. Your work includes building real-time enforcement systems, designing detection pipelines, and automating responses to abuse without human intervention.
The team focuses on dependable infrastructure and thoughtful design, serving over four million developers. You will collaborate with teammates globally to maintain high standards for product quality and security.
What you'll do
- Build real-time enforcement layers operating within millisecond latency budgets
- Design pipelines that convert signals into decisions across account activity
- Create detection rules and policies that are safe to modify and deploy
- Detect account takeovers and leaked API keys to prevent damage
- Automate manual investigations, appeals, and bulk actions for scalability
- Develop and evaluate ML classifiers for spam and phishing detection
- Ensure all enforcement actions are traceable via logs and audit trails
What you'll need
- Five or more years of software engineering experience
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Deep experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and React
- Willingness to write Go for latency-sensitive services
- Infrastructure skills using AWS, CDK, and Datadog
- Comfort with APIs, event-driven architectures, and queues
- Proven experience with Postgres and Redis databases
- Strong focus on observability, metrics, and error handling
Nice to have
- Background in trust and safety, fraud, or security
- Experience building real-time enforcement or rules engines
- Production experience with ML or LLM-based detection
- Knowledge of email protocols like SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
- Expertise in database performance tuning for Postgres or Redis
