You will join the team building next-generation wallet infrastructure at Rain, supporting both custodial and non-custodial models. The work focuses on foundational challenges in cryptography, secure computing, and blockchain wallet architecture rather than simple SDK integration.
The team aims to define modern wallet infrastructure by solving complex problems in key management and transaction orchestration. You will help shape the technical direction for securing high-value assets while maintaining developer-friendly APIs.
What you'll do
- Own architecture for custody, key management, signing, and recovery systems
- Design flexible signing infrastructure supporting MPC, HSMs, and TEEs
- Build wallet systems for EOAs, smart contracts, and ERC-4337 standards
- Define boundaries between cryptography and wallet orchestration layers
- Architect security-critical key generation, storage, and rotation processes
- Ensure high availability for signing and transaction control infrastructure
- Set technical direction for threat modeling and policy engines
- Make build-vs-buy decisions for cryptography and security tools
What you'll need
- Deep expertise in wallet, custody, cryptography, or security infrastructure
- Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and software architecture
- Experience building production systems for securing high-value assets
- Knowledge of applied cryptography like MPC, threshold signatures, or ECDSA
- Familiarity with HSMs, secure enclaves, or confidential computing
- Understanding of modern wallet architectures including account abstraction
- Experience designing authentication, authorization, and secrets management
- Ability to make high-leverage architectural decisions in complex systems
