As a Solution Consultant, you will act as the primary technical lead for Benchling's largest customers and prospects. You will translate complex scientific needs into structured data models and software solutions that integrate with existing enterprise IT environments.
You will partner with account executives and product leaders to demonstrate how Benchling’s AI platform accelerates R&D workflows. This role requires establishing credibility with senior scientific and IT stakeholders while influencing the product roadmap based on market trends.
What you'll do
- Partner with sales leadership to create account strategies and deal plans
- Conduct discovery sessions to uncover customer needs and decision criteria
- Design solutions mapping Benchling capabilities to customer science workflows
- Present and demonstrate solutions to address objections and competitive alternatives
- Provide product management with insights on industry trends and customer needs
- Create reusable content and mentor other Solution Consultants
What you'll need
- Master’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related Life Science field
- Minimum 4 years of work experience, ideally in customer-facing roles
- Experience with scientific informatics software like LIMS or ELN
- Ability to model scientific data and craft technical solutions
- Understanding of research technologies used by biopharma companies
- Fluency in English is mandatory
- Willingness to travel to customer sites 25-30% of the time
Nice to have
- Fluency in German or French
- Familiarity with antibody engineering software
- Experience demonstrating software to top 20 biotech/pharma companies
- Background in supporting research instruments or reagents
