As a Solutions Architect at Baseten, you will translate business needs into technical solutions for companies adopting AI at scale. You will work closely with Sales and Engineering to run technical discovery, lead demos, and manage proof of value projects.
This position offers a front-row view into modern AI adoption, focusing on solution design, deployment scoping, and hands-on customer implementations across various modalities like LLMs and Voice AI.
What you'll do
- Partner with Sales on customer discovery calls to align on technical needs
- Lead demos and technical scoping to define success criteria and architecture
- Own benchmarking and repeatable deployments across multiple AI modalities
- Advise on infrastructure tradeoffs such as GPU selection and optimization strategies
- Become a power user of runtimes like vLLM, SGLang, and TRT-LLM
- Scope proofs of concept and manage stakeholder alignment on timelines
- Coordinate with Forward Deployed Engineering for complex technical tasks
What you'll need
- Background in AI/ML with ability to discuss topics with technical stakeholders
- Strong customer-facing communication skills for structured discovery
- Technical depth to scope solutions without writing production code
- Ability to script and prototype quickly in technical workflows
Nice to have
- Experience running or supporting benchmarks for ML inference deployments
- Familiarity with infrastructure tradeoffs for inference performance and cost
- Experience serving as a cross-functional technical lead for customer POCs
