As a Solutions Architect within the Observe business unit, you will define the technical foundation for enterprise observability implementations. You will assess complex environments, design end-to-end architectures for telemetry data, and produce detailed handoff artifacts for engineering teams.
This position requires shifting from hands-on execution to high-level architectural thinking. You will partner with Implementation Engineers to ensure solutions are production-ready, scalable, and aligned with customer needs while mentoring junior staff.
What you'll do
- Lead technical discovery to assess telemetry, infrastructure, and operational requirements
- Design end-to-end observability architectures covering ingestion, modeling, and alerting
- Create implementation blueprints and reference architectures for engineering teams
- Validate configurations and data models for production-scale performance before execution
- Advise customers on OpenTelemetry adoption and multi-signal pipeline strategies
- Plan complex migrations from platforms like Splunk or Datadog to Observe
- Conduct go-live architecture reviews to ensure solutions match design specifications
- Mentor Implementation Engineers and establish internal technical standards
- Build and maintain realistic demo infrastructure for pre-sales and field teams
- Provide field insights to Product and Engineering to influence platform roadmap
What you'll need
- 8+ years in customer-facing technical roles such as SA, SRE, or Principal Engineer
- Deep expertise in observability platforms and telemetry systems at enterprise scale
- Strong hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry instrumentation and collector configuration
- Proven ability to lead migrations from commercial tools like ELK, New Relic, or Dynatrace
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, and Azure
- Experience with containerized workloads and Kubernetes-based environments
- Strong communication skills credible with both engineering teams and leadership
- Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and architecture diagrams
Nice to have
- Background in SRE, platform engineering, or DevOps operations
- Experience authoring internal standards and enablement content for field teams
- Familiarity with Kubernetes-native observability patterns and cloud-native monitoring
- Experience working in or alongside professional services organizations
- Direct experience working with Snowflake Observe
- Exposure to AI-assisted observability or AIOps concepts
