Join the SLED Solutions Engineering team at Skydio, acting as the technical bridge between public safety agencies and product development. You will design drone programs, prove capabilities in the field, and ensure successful large-scale deployments for government clients.
The role focuses on turning operational challenges into structured solutions, managing proofs of concept, and gathering feedback to guide product improvements. You will work closely with sales, engineering, and product teams to drive technical wins and customer confidence.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with public safety agencies to develop tailored drone solutions
- Conduct product demonstrations and integrate technology into existing systems
- Manage site assessments and verify dock locations before deployment
- Execute structured proofs of concept with measurable operational value
- Support airspace approvals including BVLOS, waivers, and COAs
- Gather customer feedback to inform product improvements and success plans
What you'll need
- Hold an active FAA Part 107 Certificate
- Travel 50 to 75 percent of the time for customer engagements
- Lift up to 60 pounds unaided for field activities
- Understand drone technology and public safety regulatory compliance
- Know Drone as First Responder concepts and dock-based operations
- Possess working knowledge of CAD, VMS, and API integrations
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have
- Prior service as sworn officer, firefighter, or UAS program lead
- Experience launching Drone as First Responder programs from waiver to go-live
- Familiarity with grant funding and cooperative purchasing vehicles
- Working knowledge of Salesforce, Palantir, or Databricks
