Join the Engine Team at Deepgram to design and implement secure, robust services for real-time speech-to-text and text-to-speech APIs. You will focus on high-performance computing, latency optimization, and building reusable code that powers voice agents for major organizations.
What you'll do
- Improve core inference services including networking and audio transcoding
- Optimize system performance through measurement and efficient scheduling
- Debug complex issues involving high performance computing interactions
- Customize backend services rapidly to meet specific customer needs
- Partner with Product teams to design and implement new features end to end
What you'll need
- At least three years of experience in an industry engineering role
- Proficiency in Rust, C, or C++ along with competence in Python
- Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills
- High level of experience with version control systems, preferably git
- Comprehensive understanding and experience with UNIX-style systems
Nice to have
- Experience with modern machine learning frameworks like Torch
- Knowledge of architectures such as CNNs, RNNs, and transformers
- Prior experience with audio processing technologies
