Join the Business Analytics team at Thumbtack, where you will unlock strategic opportunities and measure progress against company goals. You will own key metrics and dashboards, conducting deep-dive analyses that inform strategy and help tell Thumbtack’s story to investors and the Board.
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will focus on conversion and monetization within the marketplace. You will partner with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, and Finance to translate analytical insights into concrete actions and support revenue forecasting models.
What you'll do
- Define, monitor, and report on key success metrics for the platform
- Lead performance analysis to identify emerging risks and opportunities
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to answer critical strategic questions
- Support and improve revenue forecasting models and planning processes
- Build and maintain dashboards and self-serve tools for internal teams
- Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to drive decisions
- Strengthen data culture through collaboration, review, and coaching
What you'll need
- 6+ years of experience in a highly analytical role, preferably in tech
- Proficiency in SQL and Python or R for analyzing large data sets
- Strong foundation in statistics and exemplary analytical problem solving
- Experience partnering with executives to understand business needs
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience using AI to automate workflows and enable self-serve analytics
- Background in revenue modeling and forecasting in high-growth environments
Nice to have
- Experience in a marketplace or two-sided platform business
- Background in a public company environment
