Join the Business Analytics team at Thumbtack, where you will unlock strategic opportunities and measure progress against company goals. You will steward key metrics, conduct deep-dive analyses, and help tell Thumbtack’s story to investors and the Board.
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will focus on conversion and monetization within the marketplace. You will partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to turn analytical insights into actionable business decisions.
What you'll do
- Define, monitor, and report on key metrics measuring company success
- Lead performance analysis to surface emerging risks and opportunities
- Conduct deep-dive analyses critical to future business strategy
- Support and improve revenue forecasting models and planning processes
- Build and maintain dashboards and self-serve tools for internal teams
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to translate insight into action
- Strengthen data culture through collaboration, review, and coaching
What you'll need
- 6+ years of experience in a highly analytical role, preferably in tech
- Proficiency in SQL and Python or R for analyzing large data sets
- Strong statistics foundation and exemplary analytical problem solving
- Experience partnering with executives to drive business decisions
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience using AI to automate workflows and enable self-serve analytics
- Background in revenue modeling and forecasting in high-growth environments
Nice to have
- Experience in a marketplace or two-sided platform business
- Experience in a public company environment
