Join Rula as a Sr. Staff Engineer in Applied AI to enhance patient experiences through machine learning. You will design and scale AI-powered systems for matching, ranking, and personalization while establishing robust engineering foundations. This hands-on leadership position requires partnering with the ML team to deliver high-quality, intelligent healthcare solutions.
What you'll do
- Build and scale AI/ML-powered patient experiences like matching and recommendations
- Develop production models and improve existing AI-powered systems
- Create reusable capabilities and shared ML infrastructure for engineering teams
- Partner with the ML team on architecture, standards, and model development
- Determine optimal solutions using custom ML, foundation models, or deterministic software
- Mentor senior engineers and set technical direction across teams
What you'll need
- 10+ years of software or ML engineering experience with production impact
- Deep expertise in Python and building scalable systems
- Hands-on experience across the full ML lifecycle from data to deployment
- Proven track record building shared ML infrastructure or reusable tools
- Experience with recommendation, ranking, search, or personalization systems
- Strong rigor in evaluating offline model performance against online outcomes
- Experience operating foundation model or GenAI systems in production

- Experience evolving organizations toward mature ML engineering practices
