Arlo is rebuilding health insurance for small businesses by using AI to minimize administrative overhead and direct more premium dollars toward care. As a Sr. Underwriting Ops Associate, you will steward the automated underwriting workflow, ensuring accurate data inputs and sound risk judgment. You will collaborate with data science, sales, and operations teams to maintain process efficiency and resolve issues.
What you'll do
- Review and approve RFPs within established underwriting authority limits
- Validate inputs from broker submissions and correct data errors directly
- Monitor underwriting funnel performance metrics such as quote volume and conversion
- Analyze risk composition to identify adverse selection or appetite drift
- Triage in-flight quote inquiries and coordinate with sales operations
- Partner with health plan operations to support execution of bound business
- Develop and maintain underwriting reporting dashboards and operational metrics
What you'll need
- Experience in group health, stop-loss, or employee benefits underwriting
- Strong proficiency in Excel for analysis and formula-driven modeling
- High attention to detail for identifying errors in numerical and written data
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Comfort working in an evolving environment with active system development
Nice to have
- Ability to query datasets using SQL, Python, or similar tools
- Experience working with machine learning or AI-assisted automation systems
- Familiarity with the self-insured market segment and distribution models
