Join Sequen to engineer the infrastructure behind frontier ranking models used by major retailers and marketplaces. You will design composable platform systems that operate at sub-25ms latency and enterprise scale, directly impacting revenue through improved model performance.
This staff-level individual contributor position focuses on building robust, concurrent core components. You will partner with product and ML research teams to translate breakthroughs into production capabilities while defining long-term technical standards.
What you'll do
- Build and scale concurrent core platform components for high throughput
- Design composable architecture for diverse enterprise use cases
- Collaborate with product and ML teams to accelerate feature delivery
- Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions for strategic impact
- Define long-term technical direction and engineering standards
- Prototype and launch capabilities based on ML research breakthroughs
What you'll need
- 8+ years experience building scalable distributed systems
- Expert-level proficiency in Go for concurrent systems
- Strong background in service-oriented architectures
- Proven ability to scale systems from zero to one in startups
- Comfortable working across cloud infrastructure and microservices
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Nice to have
- Proficiency in Python for ML pipelines and scripting
- Experience with Kubernetes and Terraform
- Knowledge of NLP and ML model deployment patterns
- Deep experience designing RESTful and gRPC APIs
- Lightweight frontend experience with React for internal tools
