This position requires deep systems thinking to solve complex engineering challenges across multiple external integrations. You will drive architecture decisions and mentor junior engineers while ensuring 99.9%+ uptime for critical financial systems.
What you'll do
- Design payment, fraud, and compliance systems handling millions daily
- Coordinate interactions between payments, fraud, and user management
- Lead architecture decisions and establish engineering best practices
- Mentor junior engineers on coding standards and design patterns
- Optimize reliability and performance of distributed microservices
- Collaborate with product and compliance teams on system design
What you'll need
- 8+ years building complex production software systems
- 3+ years in technical leadership and architecture roles
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering required
- Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures
- Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures
- Proficiency in Python 3 and web frameworks
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- Experience with payment processing or fraud detection
- Knowledge of AML, KYC, or PCI DSS regulations
- Background in banking integrations and money movement
- Experience with high-scale transaction volumes
