Join the Search squad at ClickUp to optimize and enhance the platform's critical search functionality. You will work hands-on with backend services to ensure users can instantly find information across their workspace, directly supporting the company's AI-driven productivity goals.
What you'll do
- Design and implement robust search solutions that scale with user growth
- Improve search relevance, accuracy, and speed for faster results
- Enhance real-time indexing pipelines to keep results up-to-date
- Create measurement frameworks to evaluate and improve search quality
- Build vector search capabilities for next-generation experiences
- Collaborate with AI, backend, and product teams on new features
- Troubleshoot complex search-related issues at scale
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 7+ years of experience as a search engineer or similar role
- Production experience with OpenSearch or ElasticSearch
- Experience with high-scale, real-time data ingestion and serving
- Proven ability to optimize query parsing and relevance tuning
- Experience measuring and optimizing search quality
Nice to have
- Background in search ranking and information retrieval
- Hands-on experience with vector embeddings and semantic search
- Experience with TypeScript in backend systems
- Track record of architecting high-performance search solutions
- Experience applying machine learning and NLP to search relevance
