Assured modernizes insurance claims processing with software that powers backend fraud detection and self-service filing for major insurers. As a Staff Cloud Security Engineer, you will protect data and ensure compliance by building secure AWS environments and championing security-by-design across the platform.
What you'll do
- Design and scale secure AWS environments balancing innovation and compliance
- Build Terraform modules and infrastructure-as-code pipelines for secure deployments
- Lead security assessments, vulnerability testing, and incident response efforts
- Integrate security controls into CI/CD workflows and product lifecycles
- Define IAM strategies, network segmentation, and encryption standards
- Detect anomalies and respond to threats across cloud ecosystems
- Mentor peers on secure design and promote cloud security best practices
What you'll need
- Deep experience in cloud security engineering with a focus on AWS
- Mastery of Terraform and infrastructure-as-code principles
- Expertise in IAM, encryption, network security, and monitoring
- Hands-on experience with endpoint protection tools like EDR or MDM
- Understanding of compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or TypeScript
- Excellent communication abilities across technical and non-technical teams
Nice to have
- Certifications like AWS Certified Security Specialty, CISSP, or GCLD
- Familiarity with AWS security services like GuardDuty or Security Hub
- Experience with container and Kubernetes security including EKS
- Understanding of Zero Trust architectures and modern identity strategies
