Join the Developer Infrastructure team within Platform Engineering at Ava Labs. You will build durable infrastructure, tooling, and technical processes to help teams building the core Avalanche network ship code faster and with greater confidence.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you will work directly in the codebase to reduce friction, automate workflows, and improve system reliability through better testing and observability.

What you'll do

  • Evolving CI/CD pipelines using Bazel and GitHub Actions for fast, trustworthy quality signals
  • Simplifying provisioning and management of ephemeral and long-running test environments
  • Enhancing observability infrastructure to detect regressions across diverse configurations
  • Improving system resilience through end-to-end testing, fuzzing, and chaos engineering
  • Transforming recurring pain points into automated tools, documentation, and shared knowledge
  • Debugging flaky tests and tightening release checks to ensure genuine system utility

What you'll need

  • At least seven years of experience writing production software
  • Strong proficiency in Go and/or Rust programming languages
  • Experience managing large legacy codebases with multiple shared ownership boundaries
  • Proven track record building or improving developer infrastructure and CI/CD systems
  • Strong testing discipline with ability to diagnose and relieve bottlenecks pragmatically
  • Working fluency with Linux, containers, and infrastructure-as-code principles
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at Staff scope by transforming critical workstreams

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions, Bazel, or similar build and CI/CD systems
  • Background in distributed systems, blockchain, or consensus mechanisms
  • Experience with Kubernetes or similar container orchestration frameworks
  • Knowledge of large-scale observability including tracing, profiling, and metrics
  • Experience with chaos engineering, fuzzing, or property-based testing methods
