What you'll do
- Define service-level indicators and error budgets for quality assurance
- Make technical judgments on prototyping versus hardening solutions
- Write maintainable code and participate in on-call incident response
- Improve user experience through performance engineering and observability
- Mentor team members and provide clear design feedback
- Leverage AI tools for development while maintaining independent judgment
What you'll need
- Experience operating large-scale distributed systems in production
- Expertise in managing services on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Proficiency with monitoring tools like DataDog, Grafana, or Prometheus
- Background in high-growth startup environments
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and Terraform for infrastructure management
