Headway is building a new mental healthcare system that automates insurance administration and supports over 85,000 providers. As the most technical product manager in the Patient organization, you will define the roadmap for the ranking stack. Your work ensures patients connect with suitable providers and remain in care, directly impacting health outcomes at scale.
What you'll do
- Define strategy for search, retrieval, and ranking across engineering and data teams
- Manage end-to-end experimentation including hypotheses and guardrail metrics
- Build data and ML platform foundations for future matching capabilities
- Partner daily with ML engineers on model objectives and feature evaluation
- Balance competing priorities between patient experience and provider growth
- Elevate technically grounded product standards across the product management team
What you'll need
- 10+ years of product management experience with marketplace or search focus
- Proven track record shipping ML ranking or relevance systems to users
- Ability to discuss objective function design and offline versus online evaluation
- Experience holding architecture conversations with ML engineers
- Deep understanding of embeddings, semantic search, and LLM applications
- Skill in presenting strategy to executives and defending technical decisions
- Strong motivation to improve accessibility and affordability of mental healthcare
