Join Inworld's research lab to build first-party speech models and serve LLMs for high-volume, real-time workloads. You will drive model research and inference infrastructure that supports millions of daily users across companions, healthcare, and media sectors.
The team values researchers who thrive in ambiguity and prioritize shipping impactful results over purely academic output. You will collaborate with US-based leadership to frame questions, run experiments, and integrate findings into production APIs.
What you'll do
- Conduct full-stack research from framing questions to shipping results
- Design and execute experiments for foundation models and agents
- Develop evaluation benchmarks and quality measurement loops
- Collaborate daily with US-based engineering and leadership teams
- Focus on impact by integrating research into production APIs
What you'll need
- PhD in ML/NLP or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with training, new architectures, RL, or scaling
- Proficiency in evaluation methods like LLM-as-judge
- Professional fluency in written and spoken English
- Legal right to work in Switzerland is mandatory
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity without a clear roadmap
Nice to have
- Published research at top conferences like NeurIPS or ICML
- Public work such as open-source contributions or side projects
- Experience with multimodal models or world models
- Background in interdisciplinary experiments or competitions
