Render is building a modern cloud platform that simplifies infrastructure for developers creating AI-native, full-stack applications. As a Staff Product Designer for Agent Experience, you will design the entire programmatic surface and interaction loop where agents deploy, humans review, and errors are resolved. You will treat agents as first-class customers, ensuring consistency across CLI, API, MCP, SDKs, and documentation.

What you'll do

  • Design coherent programmatic interfaces across CLI, API, MCP, SDKs, and Blueprints
  • Create agent-facing documentation and Skills that teach models how to operate the platform
  • Design dashboard surfaces for humans to review, supervise, and trust agent-driven work
  • Define agent authentication, consent, and least-privilege access management flows
  • Ensure core platform objects mean the same thing across all interface surfaces
  • Surface programmatic paths at moments of high developer intent, such as post-error states

What you'll need

  • 7+ years of product design experience in developer tools, infrastructure, or APIs
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong web UI work alongside text-first thinking like CLI or API design
  • Experience designing end-to-end journeys that cross multiple interface boundaries
  • Comfort reading code, prototyping, and collaborating directly with engineers
  • Ability to define quality standards and influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Clear point of view on how AI-native products should interact with agents and humans

Nice to have

  • Experience shipping CLI, SDK, API, or MCP surfaces used at scale
  • Familiarity with OAuth, scoped tokens, or least-privilege access models
  • Hands-on experience building with coding agents or LLM-driven tooling
  • Design-engineering literacy including motion, prototyping, or front-end skills
  • Experience evolving developer-first products for larger enterprise teams
