Join the Production Engineering team within Platform Experience to enhance reliability across Wealthsimple's critical financial flows. You will drive technical leadership to reduce incidents, improve uptime targets, and build tooling that helps service teams ship safely.
This position involves working across platform and product boundaries to identify high-leverage reliability problems. You will design solutions that prevent recurring failures and raise operational standards for the entire engineering organization.
What you'll do
- Design guardrails and defaults to prevent service failures
- Build tooling for faster incident mitigation and response
- Analyze load test results to drive concrete reliability improvements
- Influence architecture and readiness reviews across teams
- Identify recurring failure patterns and implement platform-level fixes
- Align with product engineering on critical flow risks
What you'll need
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Significant background in platform, infrastructure, or SRE
- Proven track record of improving reliability at scale
- Strong proficiency in backend systems and distributed architecture
- Experience with load testing and capacity planning
- Ability to drive adoption of standards without direct authority
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm, Argo and deployment tools
- Strong communication skills for technical leadership
Nice to have
- Interest in AI-assisted reliability engineering tooling
- Comfort working through ambiguity and prioritizing urgent tasks
- Experience coaching service owners on scalable practices
