As a Staff Software Engineer at BJAK, you will own the technical execution for major products and systems used by millions. You will design scalable architectures, write code, and drive critical engineering initiatives from concept to production while raising the overall engineering bar.
This position requires strong system design skills and the ability to translate ambiguous product problems into clear technical solutions. You will collaborate with distributed teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and security across backend, frontend, and infrastructure layers.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and systems
- Design scalable backend, frontend, API, and database architectures
- Write code, prototype features, and conduct code reviews
- Drive architecture decisions balancing speed, cost, and reliability
- Translate ambiguous product needs into technical execution plans
- Mentor engineers and lead technically critical initiatives
What you'll need
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, APIs, or cloud infrastructure
- Strong system design skills for high-scale environments
- Proven ability to remain hands-on with coding tasks
- Track record of leading projects from design to production
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
