KIRA is expanding its mobile-first financial platform beyond insurance into spending, saving, and investing across Asia. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will own the technical execution for major products, designing scalable systems while remaining deeply involved in coding and problem-solving.
You will drive architecture decisions and raise engineering standards by mentoring peers and improving development practices. The role requires translating ambiguous product challenges into clear technical solutions for millions of users.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major engineering initiatives
- Design scalable backend, frontend, API, and infrastructure systems
- Write code, prototype features, and conduct code reviews
- Drive architecture trade-offs regarding speed, cost, and reliability
- Translate ambiguous product problems into technical execution plans
- Mentor engineers and lead critical technical projects
What you'll need
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, APIs, or cloud infrastructure
- Strong skills in system design for high-scale applications
- Proven ability to remain hands-on with coding tasks
- Track record of leading projects from design to production
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
