Doit is reinventing personal finance through AI-driven tools for spending, saving, and investing. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will own the technical execution of major systems, designing scalable solutions while remaining deeply involved in coding and architecture decisions.
You will work with a distributed international team to build products used by millions in Southeast Asia. The position requires strong leadership skills to raise engineering standards and guide complex projects from concept to production.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and systems
- Design scalable backend, frontend, API, and infrastructure solutions
- Write code, prototype, review, and debug alongside the team
- Drive architecture decisions balancing speed, cost, and reliability
- Translate ambiguous product problems into clear technical plans
- Improve engineering quality via testing, security, and observability
- Lead critical initiatives and mentor engineers across teams
What you'll need
- 7+ years of software engineering experience shipping production systems
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, distributed systems, or cloud infra
- Strong system design skills for complex or high-scale environments
- Strong coding ability with a willingness to stay hands-on
- Track record of leading major engineering projects end-to-end
- Ability to make sound technical trade-offs and solve production issues
Nice to have
- Experience scaling engineering teams or systems during significant growth
- Experience operating across multiple products, markets, or countries
