KIRA is expanding its mobile-first financial platform across Southeast Asia, focusing on insurance, spending, and investing. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will own the technical execution of major products, designing scalable systems while remaining deeply involved in coding and problem-solving.
You will drive architecture decisions and raise engineering standards through better design, testing, and observability. This position requires a technical leader who can translate ambiguous product needs into clear solutions and mentor engineers across distributed teams.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major systems
- Design scalable backend, frontend, and infrastructure solutions
- Write code, review peers, and debug production issues
- Drive architecture trade-offs for speed and reliability
- Convert ambiguous problems into technical execution plans
- Mentor engineers and lead critical technical initiatives
What you'll need
- 7+ years building and shipping production systems
- Deep expertise in distributed systems or cloud infrastructure
- Strong skills in system design and architecture
- Proven ability to remain hands-on with coding
- Track record of leading projects from design to production
- Ability to make sound technical trade-offs under pressure
