As a hands-on technical leader, you will drive architectural decisions and engineering best practices while contributing daily to the codebase. You will collaborate with product and design teams to build scalable solutions that help patients navigate the complex U.S. healthcare system.
This position requires deep expertise in both frontend and backend technologies, with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability. You will act as a force multiplier by mentoring engineers and improving development workflows without having direct reports.
What you'll do
- Own end-to-end development of key features from database to UI
- Drive technical best practices and architectural standards
- Mentor engineers and conduct thorough code reviews
- Collaborate with product and design on scalable solutions
- Optimize systems for performance and maintainability
- Lead large production releases on a continuous deployment cadence
- Identify and resolve technical and process bottlenecks
What you'll need
- 7+ years of full-stack engineering experience
- Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and Node.js
- Proven track record of shipping production-grade applications
- Strong background in scalable system design and API development
- Experience building products from scratch in startup environments
- Ability to set technical direction and mentor team members
- Must be based in the United States
