As a Staff Software Engineer at Vanta, you will drive the development of privacy, AI, and risk management features that expand the company's value proposition. You will partner with product and design teams to deliver high-impact solutions where technical decisions carry significant compliance weight.
This position plays a key role in growing Vanta’s engineering presence in Europe. You will set technical direction across multiple teams, mentor engineers, and help establish best practices as the organization scales its footprint in the UK and Ireland.
What you'll do
- Identify and lead large technical projects to scale core products
- Design and own new functionality using modern frameworks
- Set technical direction for privacy and AI governance spaces
- Make tradeoffs balancing business priorities and technical sustainability
- Shape engineering practices including hiring and onboarding
- Mentor teammates and elevate engineering culture
What you'll need
- At least 10 years of industry software engineering experience
- Experience leading large complex projects spanning multiple teams
- Track record of building systems with impact beyond immediate team
- Background building SaaS products for startup and enterprise users
- Experience in rapidly scaling environments with bias for action
- Proven ability to mentor and uplevel engineering teams

How you'll work
