Leona automates the administrative burden on doctors by managing patient communications via WhatsApp. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will build and scale the backend infrastructure that powers this AI assistant, working closely with the CTO and cross-functional teams to improve clinical workflows across Latin America and beyond.
What you'll do
- Own technically complex and business-critical projects end-to-end
- Collaborate with design, data science, and medical staff on product features
- Partner with the CTO to evolve engineering strategy and processes
- Influence technical direction and product decisions as a core team member
What you'll need
- 6+ years of experience building and scaling complex software systems
- Deep expertise in backend development, specifically with Python
- Familiarity with managing production-scale infrastructure on AWS
- Strong understanding of modern AI technologies and tooling
- Ability to work across the stack from idea to launch
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Nice to have
- Previous experience in health tech or messaging platforms
- Fluency in Spanish
- Background in early-stage startup environments
