Join the Billing Platform Engineering team to build and maintain the infrastructure supporting Docker's commercial model. You will design safe, observable systems for usage-based billing and define standards for AI-assisted infrastructure operations.
This position requires deep expertise in AWS and Terraform to ensure billing accuracy and payment reliability. You will partner with software engineers to integrate operational requirements early in the design process.
What you'll do
- Own infrastructure for Billing Platform services including compute, storage, and networking
- Design and maintain Terraform modules for AWS billing system infrastructure
- Build observability systems focused on billing accuracy and payment reliability
- Define deployment patterns and runbooks for AI-agent-assisted workflows
- Partner with engineers to incorporate infrastructure constraints into service design
- Lead incident response and participate in on-call rotation for billing issues
- Mentor engineers and raise technical standards across the team
What you'll need
- 8+ years in platform, infrastructure, or SRE roles for production SaaS
- Deep AWS expertise including ECS/EKS, RDS, networking, and IAM
- Expert-level Terraform skills with experience designing reusable modules
- Experience building organizational-level observability stacks like Datadog
- Strong familiarity with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
- Operational and architectural knowledge of Kubernetes
- Security-first mindset with threat modeling and least-privilege principles
- Strong written English communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

- Track record of driving improvements across team or organizational boundaries
