Join the Everand Core team to drive the technical direction of backend systems that power web and mobile reading experiences. You will own platform health, mentor engineers, and collaborate across search, recommendations, and product teams to deliver scalable solutions.
What you'll do
- Set technical direction for Everand backend architecture and design
- Own platform reliability, CI/CD, databases, and observability
- Mentor engineers and raise standards for design and testing
- Modernize legacy systems to improve velocity and scalability
- Partner with product and ML teams to support experimentation
- Drive cross-functional execution and technical planning
What you'll need
- Significant experience building and scaling distributed systems
- Proficiency in Ruby, Scala, Go, or Python
- Strong focus on reliability, SLOs, and debugging
- Track record of technical leadership and mentoring
- Experience collaborating with senior product and design partners
- Ability to translate user needs into technical solutions
Nice to have
- Strong coding ability in Ruby
- Experience optimizing latency in large-scale systems
- Background working with ML recommendation engines
- Familiarity with feature-flagging platforms
