You will join a small, growing team responsible for the platform that supports hundreds of Docker engineers. The primary goal is to replace manual expert support with paved roads, enabling teams to provision environments in hours rather than days.
This Staff-level role combines hands-on coding in Go with technical leadership. You will design APIs, set delivery standards, and drive cross-team alignment to ensure the internal platform is safe, scalable, and easy to use.
What you'll do
- Transform ambiguous infrastructure problems into clear proposals and RFCs
- Design self-service platform APIs and capabilities primarily in Go
- Set delivery standards using Terraform, GitOps, and progressive rollout
- Evolve multi-tenant EKS foundations for better reliability and scale
- Improve SLOs, alerting, and incident follow-up processes
- Shape AI-assisted operational workflows for alert enrichment and diagnosis
- Participate in on-call rotation and improve overall on-call health
What you'll need
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong backend engineering skills in Go or similar languages
- Track record of shipping and operating cloud services in production
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes, networking, or cloud platforms
- Solid Linux, networking, and production operations fundamentals
- Experience setting technical direction and leading cross-team work
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for remote work
Nice to have
- Experience with EKS, ingress, CNI, or service mesh
- Observability knowledge using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Grafana
- CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, Argo CD, or canaries
- Background in leading migrations or adoption programs across teams
