You will drive the strategy and architecture for release and configuration layers across all environments. As a senior individual contributor, you will build the safeguards and automation that enable reliable, scalable software delivery for engineering teams.
The work sits at the intersection of infrastructure, SRE, and security. You will design self-service tools and paved paths that make safe deployment patterns the default, ensuring consistency from build artifacts to production systems.
What you'll do
- Drive the release and configuration layer strategy from build to production
- Design scalable release workflows and reusable abstractions for services
- Collaborate with CI and infrastructure owners to extend core systems
- Build systems for artifact promotion and environment-aware deployments
- Develop self-service tooling to standardize safe deployment patterns
- Implement automated validation, safety checks, and rollback mechanisms
- Manage environment configurations for consistency and traceability
- Embed observability into the release lifecycle for visibility into health
What you'll need
- 5+ years building platform systems, infrastructure, or developer tooling
- Strong software engineering skills in TypeScript or similar languages
- Experience leading or contributing heavily to shared engineering platforms
- Deep familiarity with extending CI/CD systems programmatically
- Strong understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and deployment architectures
- Experience building production-scale systems on AWS
- Knowledge of release systems including artifact management and rollbacks
- Proven ability to turn systemic problems into scalable platform solutions
Nice to have
- Interest in Agentic, spec-driven development
- Experience working across CI, infrastructure, and SRE domains
- Track record of reducing friction through automation
