Join the newly formed Program Structure & Trust group at Vanta to build the foundational architecture for enterprise security programs. You will define how large organizations structure business units, manage data residency, and handle scoped approvals within the platform.
As the defining technical leader for this initiative, you will drive the multi-quarter delivery of these core abstractions. The role requires balancing long-term architectural vision with incremental value delivery, ensuring the platform scales to meet diverse enterprise needs without disrupting existing customers.
What you'll do
- Own design and delivery of the enterprise org model including hierarchical structures
- Define core abstractions to handle conflicting enterprise requirements generally
- Retrofit live production systems toward multi-tenant structures safely
- Ship incremental customer value each quarter while progressing on the full solution
- Drive execution across squads through technical clarity rather than authority
- Partner with leadership and product to translate vision into phased work
- Set technical standards and define patterns for the engineering group
What you'll need
- 10+ years of deep backend engineering experience
- Track record of leading complex multi-quarter technical initiatives
- Experience designing platform abstractions for diverse enterprise needs
- Proven ability to ship structurally complex problems in stages
- History of effective cross-team collaboration without direct authority
- Deep knowledge of tenancy models and role-based access control
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have
- Exposure to data residency or GovCloud environments
- Willingness to use AI tools to improve efficiency and impact
