Join Supernal as a Staff Software Engineer to own and evolve the systems enabling scalable AI agents. You will drive architectural decisions for the Django backend, event-driven architecture, and observability stack. This technical leadership role involves mentoring engineers and eliminating scaling bottlenecks.
What you'll do
- Drive platform architecture decisions for scalability and maintainability
- Review code and design docs for reliability and security
- Mentor engineers and establish platform best practices
- Optimize Django backend performance and correctness
- Scale async execution using Celery, Dramatiq, or Temporal
- Tune PostgreSQL queries and manage caching strategies
- Maintain Kubernetes infrastructure via Helm and Terraform
- Lead incident response and improve observability with Datadog
What you'll need
- 10+ years building production backend systems at scale
- Deep expertise in Python and Django
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational databases
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and GCP
- Background in distributed systems and message queues
- Production experience with async task systems like Celery
- Ability to debug complex issues across multiple services
- Clear technical communication and autonomous work style
Nice to have
- Experience with Temporal or similar workflow engines
- Background in LLM infrastructure or RAG systems
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and Datadog
- Experience with KEDA autoscaling solutions
- Contributions to multi-tenant SaaS architecture
