Join Skydio’s Supplier Quality Engineering team to strengthen the supplier base for high-volume production of autonomous drones. You will interface with product design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to verify supplier capabilities and drive continuous improvement.
The role focuses on maintaining robust quality control programs and minimizing defects through rigorous assessment and planning. You will play a key part in bringing sophisticated electromechanical systems to market by ensuring suppliers meet strict engineering and quality standards.
What you'll do
- Conduct supplier assessments and on-site audits to verify quality systems
- Partner with design and manufacturing engineers on quality plans
- Perform First Article Inspections and surveillance audits
- Drive quality planning and 8D/SCAR activities with suppliers
- Maintain supplier scorecards to measure performance and reduce defects
What you'll need
- Experience managing suppliers domestically and internationally
- Background in quality engineering for consumer electronics or automotive
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes like injection molding and casting
- Familiarity with GD&T and ability to interpret complex drawings
- Proficiency with FMEA, PPAP, 8D, and Statistical Process Control
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Willingness to travel to supplier sites 30-40% of the time
