We are looking for an experienced System Administrator to support government customers by maintaining secure IT infrastructure. You will handle daily monitoring, monthly patching, and troubleshooting for Windows and Red Hat systems while ensuring compliance with security standards.
What you'll do
- Install, configure, and maintain systems according to project specifications
- Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) for system hardening
- Perform daily system monitoring and monthly patching tasks
- Troubleshoot network and application performance issues
- Maintain Oracle and SQL Server database environments
- Write PowerShell scripts for monitoring and data mining logs
- Create and update system documentation including SOPs and security procedures
- Participate in change management and Information Assurance Validation Testing
What you'll need
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph or ability to obtain it
- Bachelor's degree plus 8 years experience, or 12 years experience alone
- Active Security+ certification (DoD 8570 IAT Level II)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows 2016+ and Red Hat Linux 8+
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and VMware
- Strong skills in writing and editing PowerShell scripts
- Ability to perform occasional after-hours maintenance and upgrades
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Oracle and SQL Server databases
- Experience with Apache Tomcat 8.5 or higher
- Knowledge of JAVA Open JDK/JRE 11+
- Proactive approach to anticipating potential system issues
