As BJAK scales its technology products across Southeast Asia, the company needs technical leaders to solve complex engineering challenges. The Technical Lead owns the execution and design of major systems, working directly on code while guiding the engineering team toward higher quality and reliability.
This position requires balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability while turning ambiguous product problems into clear technical solutions. You will collaborate with a distributed international team, ensuring robust architecture and strong development practices.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and initiatives
- Design scalable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, and infrastructure
- Write code, prototype, review, and debug alongside the team
- Drive architecture decisions balancing speed, cost, and reliability
- Translate ambiguous product problems into clear technical plans
- Improve engineering quality through better testing and observability
- Mentor engineers and lead critical technical initiatives
What you'll need
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, or distributed systems
- Strong skills in system design for high-scale environments
- Proven ability to remain hands-on with coding tasks
- Track record of leading projects from design to production
- Ability to make sound technical trade-offs and solve complex problems
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
