As BJAK scales its technology products across Southeast Asia, the company needs technical leaders to solve complex engineering challenges. The Technical Lead owns the execution and design of major systems, working directly with code while guiding the team.
You will translate ambiguous product requirements into clear technical solutions, ensuring scalability and reliability. The position requires strong communication skills in English and a commitment to raising engineering standards through better practices and mentorship.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and initiatives
- Design scalable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, and infrastructure
- Write code, prototype, review, and debug alongside the team
- Drive architecture decisions balancing speed, cost, and reliability
- Convert ambiguous problems into clear technical execution plans
- Mentor engineers and lead critical technical initiatives
What you'll need
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, or distributed systems
- Strong system design skills for high-scale environments
- Proven ability to remain hands-on with coding
- Track record of leading projects from design to production
- Strong English communication skills
Nice to have
- Experience scaling teams or systems during significant growth
- Background operating across multiple markets or countries
How you'll work
- Hybrid model: 3 days in office, remainder remote
