As BJAK scales its technology products across Southeast Asia, the company needs technical leaders to solve complex engineering challenges. The Technical Lead owns the execution and design of major systems, working directly on code while guiding the team from concept to production.
This position requires balancing speed, scalability, and reliability while turning ambiguous product needs into clear technical plans. You will collaborate with a distributed international team, ensuring high engineering standards through strong system design and mentorship.
What you'll do
- Own technical design and execution for major products and initiatives
- Design scalable backend, frontend, API, and infrastructure systems
- Write code, review peers, and debug production issues
- Make architecture trade-offs regarding cost, speed, and reliability
- Translate ambiguous problems into clear technical solutions
- Mentor engineers and lead critical technical projects
What you'll need
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with production systems
- Deep expertise in backend, frontend, or distributed systems
- Strong skills in system design and architecture for high-scale apps
- Proven ability to remain hands-on with coding tasks
- Track record of leading projects from design to production
- Strong English communication skills for global collaboration
