Lead the engineering efforts for an AI email app designed to organize lives through proactive assistance. You will shape the architecture across backend services, APIs, and client applications, ensuring high reliability for long-running workflows.
This hands-on leadership position involves guiding a small team of senior engineers. You will stay close to the code, make critical architectural decisions, and partner with ML leadership to turn model capabilities into robust product experiences.
What you'll do
- Own application engineering strategy across backend, mobile, and desktop
- Design reliable systems for AI workflows including state and orchestration
- Build APIs connecting AI systems to real-world product experiences
- Lead a small senior team through design reviews and mentorship
- Establish production foundations like observability and monitoring
- Partner with ML leadership to ship robust product features
What you'll need
- Significant experience leading engineering for complex systems
- Strong background building and shipping backend systems
- Experience building AI-powered products or integrating LLMs
- Ability to make technical decisions with incomplete information
- Deep expertise in backend or client platforms
- High standards for code quality and engineering fundamentals
