Join FAR.AI, a non-profit institute dedicated to ensuring advanced AI is safe and beneficial. You will define and execute programs for research teams working on model deception, interpretability, and evaluation, while scaling the necessary infrastructure to support these efforts.
This position requires owning problems end-to-end, building processes from scratch, and partnering with researchers to translate findings into actionable tools for frontier labs and stakeholders.
What you'll do
- Scope and deliver complex technical programs from idea to completion
- Prioritize work across research teams to focus on high-impact outcomes
- Build compute and resource roadmaps to identify bottlenecks and trade-offs
- Partner with researchers to package and transfer findings to external stakeholders
- Coordinate with Operations, Events, and Communications on timelines and context
What you'll need
- Strong technical background in ML, software engineering, or scientific research
- 4+ years of experience building technical programs from scratch
- Ability to reason about technical trade-offs in AI/ML infrastructure
- Experience facilitating technology transfer from research to production
- Comfortable ramping up quickly on unfamiliar technical domains
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to have
- Delivery experience at a frontier AI lab or safety institute
- Background in scientific computing cluster management
- Experience with public storytelling via demos or blog posts
- Supporting hiring processes for technical staff

- Remote within the US or hybrid in Bay Area office
- Full-time employment
- Up to 10% travel may be required
