Join Solvd Inc. to engineer the video layer for a major international news brand's new digital platform. You will handle end-to-end implementation of adaptive playback, livestream workflows, and newsroom clipping tools, ensuring reliability during extreme traffic spikes.
What you'll do
- Own technical implementation of video, livestream, and player features
- Integrate video platforms with content and delivery architecture
- Implement adaptive bitrate streaming for web and mobile devices
- Support livestream workflows including failover and resilience
- Build clipping and video-processing tools for editorial use
- Integrate captions, subtitles, thumbnails, and poster frames
- Handle rights management, geoblocking, and availability windows
- Implement video advertising, analytics, and playback telemetry
- Conduct load testing and resilience validation before launch
What you'll need
- Experience with enterprise video platforms like Brightcove or Mux
- Strong knowledge of HLS, DASH, and device-aware playback
- Proven experience implementing production livestream workflows
- Familiarity with clipping, transcoding, and caption integration
- Experience integrating VAST/VPAID advertising and analytics
- Ability to implement telemetry, error detection, and fallbacks
- Experience with performance testing for high-traffic scenarios
- Strong collaboration skills across CMS and infrastructure teams
Nice to have
- Background in video infrastructure for news or broadcast media
- Experience with CDN configuration for scaled video delivery
- Familiarity with DRM standards like Widevine or FairPlay
- Worked on platforms handling major-event traffic spikes
- Knowledge of structured metadata workflows for editorial video
