We are seeking a systems software engineer to drive the design, implementation, and evolution of the Taproot Assets Protocol. You will contribute to mission-critical cryptocurrency daemons and collaborate on future protocol iterations.
The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of the Bitcoin core protocol, smart contracting updates, and standards like PSBTs. You will help make Bitcoin usage cheaper, faster, and simpler through robust engineering and open source collaboration.
What you'll do
- Design and implement core Taproot Assets Protocol features and algorithms
- Contribute to peer-to-peer cryptocurrency daemons written in Go
- Collaborate on research and design for future protocol iterations
- Participate in issue triage and code review for open source repos
- Communicate with the community about software and technology
What you'll need
- Strong engineering background with solid programming skills
- Thorough understanding of distributed systems and P2P networking
- Solid engineering practices including testing and documentation
- Experience with Bitcoin, cryptography, or financial software
- Quick learner geared towards practical implementation
Nice to have
- Experience in Go, C, or C++
- Prior contributions to crypto protocols
- Open source software collaboration experience
