The role requires building robust systems to extract and transform data from public APIs while avoiding screen scraping. You will take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, from design to production support.
What you'll do
- Research and access APIs to understand structures and endpoints without screen scraping
- Reverse engineer web APIs using tools like Burp Suite, Postman, or Fiddler
- Write scalable code to extract data from public APIs and transform it into common models
- Design API integrations leveraging knowledge of HTML, DOM, CSS, and HTTP/S protocols
- Implement solutions to handle bot detection, request throttling, and CAPTCHA mitigation
- Break down product development into manageable iterative releases
- Document findings and collaborate with development teams through clear communication
- Take ownership of the entire SDLC including QA, build, deployment, and support
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of software development experience as a full-stack engineer
- Strong focus on building web applications using Node.js and TypeScript
- Knowledge of various technologies and test automation frameworks
- Familiarity with agile development practices and version control systems like Git
- Self-directed attitude with personal accountability for delivering results
- Keen attention to detail and ability to solve complex problems
- Ability to learn large software systems end-to-end quickly
