What you'll do
- Own backend systems from design through deployment and scaling
- Build performant and reliable APIs for financial products
- Design scalable architectures on AWS using Node and TypeScript
- Make pragmatic tradeoffs between speed, reliability, and maintainability
- Ship production code frequently while upholding high quality standards
- Establish technical patterns and best practices for the engineering team
- Collaborate effectively with product engineers and stakeholders
What you'll need
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend focus
- Experience building and scaling production systems with Node and AWS
- Proficiency with TypeScript is preferred
- Track record of delivering reliable, performant systems at scale
- Comfortable working more than 50 hours per week in a high-intensity role
- Willingness to leverage AI-assisted development tools aggressively
- Ability to make technical decisions with incomplete information
