Actai is building proactive, AI-native applications for email, notes, tasks, and calendars that require minimal prompting. The company focuses on high reliability, persistent context, and real-world task completion to help users organize their lives efficiently.
As CTO, you will own the technology strategy and architecture for the group. You will balance high-level strategic decisions with direct involvement in system reviews, code quality, and engineering execution.
What you'll do
- Own architecture and major technical decisions across group products
- Review critical systems, infrastructure, and code directly
- Set engineering standards for reliability, security, and performance
- Identify and resolve technical debt and architecture constraints
- Improve engineering productivity and production reliability
- Decide on shared technology and infrastructure across businesses
- Recruit and assess senior engineers and technical leaders
What you'll need
- Deep software engineering background with scaling experience
- Strong knowledge of backend systems, APIs, and databases
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and distributed systems
- Proven track record in multi-product architecture decisions
- Strong technical judgement at implementation level
- Ability to build world-class engineering teams
- Hands-on ability to review code and solve complex problems
